The Afro Puff

I’ve been sleeping on a twist out (without re-twisting at night) for the past week. Today it was raining outside and I knew that my hair was going to grow (not in a good way) if I stepped outside with my hair completely loose. On this rainy day, I decided to sport an afro puff. I just hopped in the shower without a shower cap and let the steam bring my hair some what to life. After my steam treatment, I took a chunk of hair in the front of my head and twisted it into a pump. I then secured the pump with flat bobby pins. Next, I grabbed an extra large hair tie (also known as a stretchy head band), gathered the rest of my hair through the hair tie and twisted it around twice so that it was secure. I then fluffed my hair out with my fingers and sprayed a little Shea Naturals hair oil my puff. I brushed the back of my hair and the sides with a little aloe vera gel. The benefit is me having great hair no matter how much it decides to rain!

I’ve seen women do the pump look in so many different ways…ways that did not seem to work for me. I see that you twist yours and pin it down. Definitely will be trying that tomorrow!! 🙂

  3. Super cute again!!! Love how full and soft your hair looks!!!
