Summer 2014 Makeup Trends: Neon Orange Lips

20140509-110938.jpg
This summer it’s all about the lips. Not just bright lips, but NEON lips! On the spring/summer 2014 catwalk, models were seen wearing bold neon orange lipstick. Most women think that the orange lip is limited to certain skin tones, but much like the red lip, there is an orange lipstick for everyone. It’s all about finding the right hue for your complexion. When I wear orange lipstick, I like to line the majority of my lips with a lip liner first and then fill in the rest with my favorite orange hue. I generally choose a liner that is in the red family and a few shades darker than the lipstick so that it gives my lips some depth. Above, I’m wearing NYX Cosmetics and their Plush Red liner along with their Haute Melon cream lipstick. The lipstick was only $5.99 at Ulta, but there was a buy one get one 50% off so I purchased two lipsticks for a little less than $10. You can’t pass that up! This lipstick is a coral/orange shade and it’s very bright. It definitely isn’t for the faint of heart but it’s absolutely perfect for summer! Some of my other favorite oranges are MAC’s So Chaud and Morange. Both shades are totally different, but equally fabulous. Take your time and shop around for your perfect orange!

P.s. Ulta is still having the buy one get one for 50% off sale on all NYX Cosmetics!
