January Essence Beauty Box : LAQA & CO. Fat Lip Pencil Review

Today, I decided to try something different on my lips for work. I received this lip pencil in my Essence Beauty Box for January and I must admit…I was a little skeptical of this purple lip pencil. I’m usually a pink or nude gal. I only venture into red on special occasions and dark brown or deep plums rarely make it onto my lips. Despite all that, I gave it a whirl. I lined my lips (lightly) with a brown pencil first and filled them in with the Laqua & Co. Fat Lip Pencil in Shambolic.

It went on smooth and is very pigmented, which is unusual for creamy lip pencils. Almost reminds me of MAC’s Up The Amp. I like the fact that it doesn’t feel dry, but moisturizing. Perfect for those who can’t remember to moisturize their lips prior to applying lipstick.

As you can see, the color is flattering.  It has staying power because I drank my morning coffee without a straw and my lips were still vibrant! It’s certainly changing my mind about the purple lippie family. I’m going to see where  I can get my hands on more of these lip pencils in different colors!
