In this week’s adventures of Black Girl Magic, Nancy Abu-Bonsrah, found out that she matched at Johns Hopkins Hospital on annual Match Day for graduating physicians.
The Ghana native came to Maryland 11 years ago and settled on Johns Hopkins Medical School to pursue her dream of becoming a neurosurgeon. She will be the first physician in her family.
Nancy hopes to provide medical care to underserved communities. She also desires to go back to her homeland and help build a sustainable surgical infrastructure.
“I want to be remembered for serving my community, whether it is through providing quality surgical care or helping mentor the next generation of surgeons” – Nancy Abu-Bonsrah (HopkinsMedicine.org)
Congrats Nancy, looking forward to watching you break down barriers in the medical field.
