The photos have been circulating on Twitter and Instagram for the past 24 hours and Lalonie has received more hate than support as a result. The majority of the hate is coming from men. Their reactions are borderline creepy.

The man below seems to have intense issues with the artist’s body hair. He was so disgusted that he took to Instagram to express his disdain.

However, not everyone felt that Lalonie’s choice was controversial, some applauded her stance on women keeping their body hair.

After all was said and done, Lalonie remained unapologetic.

I’m all for women making their own decisions when it comes to their bodies. Lalonie isn’t asking anyone to want her or even like her. There are women with issues that prevent them from being able to shave or wax like other women. But even without those issues, it’s still a personal choice. Men choose to keep their body hair and no one says a word. Hair creeps out of their shirts, their swimming trunks, and tank tops, but it’s okay because their men, right? The fact that society doesn’t allow women to have the same option is seriously ridiculous.

If you shave or wax, cool. If you don’t shave or wax, cool. The point is, adults shouldn’t act like body hair is taboo when it’s a natural occurance on every healthy human being. Shaving does not equal femininity. Kudos to Lalonie for using her platform to promote body positivity.
